Nonsurgical Skincare Procedures Are Available to Help Reverse the Signs of Aging

Signs of aging, including wrinkles, crow's feet, sagging, and discoloration can make you look older than you are, not to mention older than you feel. But these conditions and more can be resolved with several different non-surgical, non-invasive procedures.

Chemical Peel

Chemical Peels are used to create an even and controlled shedding of damaged skin cells. Each year thousands of chemical peels are performed in the United States. Chemical peels use a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. It tightens the skin, reduces fine wrinkling and restores a more youthful appearance.

A light peel will result in a period of 3 days of peeling followed by a few days of redness that can be camouflaged with makeup. A deeper peel will require a longer recovery of 4-5 days with peeling and subsequent redness for 7-10 days which can be covered with makeup when the skin heals. A chemical peel is beneficial for individuals with facial blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation, from age or sun exposure.

Photorejuvenation

Intense Pulsed Light technology is a treatment breakthrough that will correct/improve a variety of skin conditions, such as rosacea, broken capillaries, unsightly veins, reddened scars and photoaging due to sun damage. The approach is gradual, with noticeable results achieved over several treatment sessions.

Photorejuvenation is a safe, non-invasive solution that is tailored to your individual condition and skin type, providing superior cosmetic results. There is virtually no recovery period needed. Receiving treatment can be compared to the sensation of a small rubber band gently snapping against the skin. Photorejuvenation effectively reduces signs of aging by restoring an even hue/color to the skin, dramatically improving your overall appearance.

The Procedure

An intense light is applied in a series of gentle pulses to treat the face, chest, neck and hands--virtually anywhere that sun damage shows. Without damaging the skin, the light penetrates through the skin and is absorbed by the abnormally dilated vessels or pigmentation in the skin. The lesion will darken before flakes off or is absorbed by the body. Treatment can be given as frequently as every three weeks.

For optional results, a series of 5 treatments are recommended. Some patients see significant improvements in to 2 to 3 treatments while others require more. Follow up treatments may be desired once a year to maintain results.

Benefits of Photorejuvenation

* Improve sun spots, age spots, dull complexions, uneven pigmentation, large pores, and early sign of Aging.
* Improves red flushing skin, Rosacea and broken capillaries.
* Smoother skin with more even tone.
* More youthful appearance of the skin.

Risks

Side effects are rare. Immediately following treatments the skin may appear flushed, brown pigmented spots that may appear darker, and capillaries may be visible. In rare instance, temporary swelling and/or blistering can occur. Limiting sun exposure for several weeks before and after treatment will greatly minimize the risk of complications.

Thermage

Thermage Radiofrequency Skin Tightening technology is the newest technology to reverse the signs of aging. It has been clinically proven to tighten and gently lift skin to smooth out wrinkles and renew facial contours. This treatment heats the deep surface of the skin causing it to contract and tighten. The radiofrequency lifts the face, brow and cheeks without surgery and without downtime. The procedure is safe and requires about an hour. Patients can return to work or regular activity immediately following a treatment.

The Procedure

The treatment can be used on the face, neck, area surrounding the eyes as well as on the body. The treatment can take anywhere from one to two hours depending on the areas to be treated. The most frequently treated areas are the face and neck.

There is a cooling tip to assist with comfort and cooling of the skin during the treatment. Multiple passes will be performed over the region to be treated to achieve the desired result. Some results will be noticed immediately following the procedure, however, results will continue to improve for up to six months.
