3 Career Fields You Should Definitively Avoid

Giving career advice seems to be something a lot of people have become expert at, and browsing the Web in order to find a career field that might interest you could send you to the land of disappointments. When it comes to choosing a career at the one person you should rely on is yourself but, before you choose to trust your gut to get good information about what industries are going up in what industries are going down in the next decades so using the Web in order to research industries and gather some useful Intel can prove to be the best strategy.

Today was going to talk about three of the career Fields you should definitely avoid if you do not want to be left behind because of technological and industry changes, let's take a look at them:

-- Mail Clerks and Machine Operators

Working for mailing companies used to be a rewarding job, especially during the times when everything was done manually. Nowadays computers and machines are taking over the process of sorting and classifying mail and machines which used to require constant maintenance are being replaced for more efficient models that do not require as much human interaction, this being the case those who plan to take on a part-time job working at the local mail office are better off not pursuing a career in that particular field as mailing companies are also affected by the constant fluctuation of oil prices.

-- Office Machine Maintenance Clerks and Operators

Those who have decided to prepare themselves to repair printers, fax and other office machines may soon find themselves looking for a career change mostly due to the fact that technology has become quite cheap and completely replacing an old office machine for a new one proves to be more effective and cheaper than sending it for repair. A better option for those who pursue more technical jobs would be to focus on computers and repairs that require a higher level of technical expertise.

-- New Account Representatives in the Banking Industry

Working in the banking industry or with a company that offers financial services can be very prestigious but as technology takes over this field less and less new account Representatives will be needed. As you might have noticed almost every bank (even overseas) are now offered the option for new clients to open accounts online, this technological shift can leave people out of their jobs if they do not further their skills and education. There are many rewarding specialties within the financial services and banking industries but being a new account Representative is not one of them.
